Editor's Note

The first issue of Voices Unheard began as a school project geared toward a public-facing audience. I wanted to create a platform where people could feel heard through creative expression, even if it was through my silly little project. And yet, six months later, Voices Unheard is a real, ISBN-registered publication, with four issues coming out this year alone (maybe more at the rate of submissions!).

I have received so much support and so many submissions from talented people who simply want to feel heard. Not only have I received an impressive collection of work, but I have also been given the honor of hearing so many of your stories, your dreams, and your nightmares. To be told that Voices Unheard has made an impact on many of you is truly remarkable.

Unlike the Fall 2025 Issue, this special issue is compiled not only of poems, but also longer works from a larger variety of writers, myself included. With more than double the page length of the first issue, these works aim to leave a lasting impression long after the final page is turned.

From micro poems to reflective narratives, this issue captures the complexity of mental health and seeks to spread awareness of such a nuanced topic. So please, take a look and enjoy.
